Peter Enckelman, whose mistake handed Portsmouth their winning goal in the FA Cup final, has been released by Blackburn.
The Finn, 31, was in goal for Cardiff at Wembley on Saturday and parried a cross straight to Kanu, who netted from close range in Pompey's 1-0 victory.
And Rovers have confirmed Enckelman, on loan at Ninian Park since January, is one of three players who will leave Ewood Park this summer.
He made only three appearances in four years as Brad Friedel's understudy.
However, Enckelman has been offered a permanent deal by Cardiff boss Dave Jones.
Also on their way out of Blackburn are Swiss defenders Stephane Henchoz and Bruno Berner.

Go Cardiff!
Congratulations to Cardiff's Bluebirds for nearly winning the FA Cup on Saturday.
Cardiff defender Roger Johnson believes their FA Cup final performance proved they are good enough for the top flight.
A solitary goal from Kanu was enough for Portsmouth to claim the famous trophy at Wembley but the Bluebirds could certainly return to Wales with their heads held high.
On-loan goalkeeper Peter Enckelman failed to hold on to John Utaka's 37th-minute cross and Kanu was on hand to punish the mistake, firing in from close range.
It gave the Barclays Premier League side a first FA Cup triumph in 69 years, ensuring the Bluebirds' fairytale run to their first final since 1927 ended in disappointment.
Johnson revealed his frustration at the way they conceded, blaming "individual errors" and he insisted the club, who finished 12th in the Coca-Cola Championship, had created more opportunities than their opponents.
"It's been the story of our season," Johnson said. "We have murdered teams and we don't take our chances.
"We did create enough chances to at least score and the clean sheet flatters them a little bit.
"We know we are good enough. We pass the ball and that's what you need to do in the Premier League.
"But the Championship is a tough division, you get sucked into other teams' way of playing."
The defeat meant Dave Jones' side ended the campaign with nothing to show for their efforts and Johnson admits his summer will be spent ruing missed opportunities in the league and cup.
"It's been a good season but a disappointing season because I think we have missed out on two good chances really," he added.
"We have not got in the play-offs. We have a good enough squad to push for the title in this league and it was the year to do it.
"Look at the final, Hull and Bristol City. In my view, it's not a great a final is it? But they're there, so fair play to them.
"If we had scored first I think we would have gone on and won two or three nil.
"It's nice to do down in history and be in the final but I'll have to tell everyone I was a losing finalist, which isn't nice.
"It's been a big season. I feel as though we have missed out but I'm very proud of what I have achieved and what the team have achieved."
The defender could yet find himself in the Barclays Premier League next season if reports are to be believed, with Middlesbrough among the sides claimed to be interested.
However, the former Wycombe centre-back insists he could sign a new deal at Ninian Park over the summer.
"I hope so, I have another year to run," he added.
"We will see what happens in the summer with the chairman and the manager.
"I am sure they will offer a few new deals out so hopefully I will be one of them."

Truth
Qur'an 4:34 - "Men are in charge of women, because Allah hath made the one of them to excel the other, and because they spend of their property (for the support of women). So good women are the obedient, guarding in secret that which Allah hath guarded. As for those from whom ye fear rebellion, admonish them and banish them to beds apart, and scourge them. Then if they obey you, seek not a way against them. Lo! Allah is ever High, Exalted, Great."
Qur'an 5:51 - "O ye who believe! Take not the Jews and the Christians for friends. They are friends one to another. He among you who taketh them for friends is (one) of them. Lo! Allah guideth not wrongdoing folk."
Qur'an 9:5 - "Then, when the sacred months have passed, slay the idolaters wherever ye find them, and take them (captive), and besiege them, and prepare for them each ambush. But if they repent and establish worship and pay the poor-due, then leave their way free. Lo! Allah is Forgiving, Merciful."

I have returned!
My friends,
A thousand pardons for my absence. I thought the trial would go in my favour, you see. Curse the kuffar judiciary! I have a feeling that the members of the jury might be getting a visit from some friends of mine, who will peacefully point out the error of their ways.
I must say a thank you to Mr Cohen for looking after the shop for me. He was done the jihadist cause no end of good, inshallah.
Peace to you all,
Ali

French Peace Initiative and a Teddy Bear
My friends, I wish to pay tribute to my Muslim brothers in France, who this week did what we of the Islamic persuasion do best – destroy things.
They burned cars and buildings, and shot at the infidel police. I am so jealous not to have been involved! But I am confident that our time will come here in Britainistan. The glorious 7/7 peace initiative surpasses anything my brothers have done in France, but I feel that widespread rioting across the land here would show the kuffar just how vulnerable they are.
We Muslims must bide our time. There are not yet enough of us to seize power, so we must content ourselves with a few bombings now and then, plus the occasional peaceful street demonstration where we call for infidels to be executed.
The kuffar woo us in the hope that we shall vote for them – and indeed we do because we cannot go it alone. But there will come a time when a Muslim political party will gain the ascendancy. Then – look out Mr. and Mrs. Infidel! Hell awaits you.
Now, there is something I do not understand. Why is the infidel Gibbons bitch not dead? It is clear that she has insulted the Prophet (pbuh) and Islam so she must die. Or am I missing something?
How can Islam be expected to maintain its exalted status as the world’s most intolerant religion if we don’t murder middle-aged infidel women teachers? I think the Sudanese government should invite the whore’s family over to “apologise” to them. Then, just when they think she is going to be pardoned, the Sudanese corral her and her brethren into the corner of the room and get the army to use them for bayonet practice.
I must go now as I am wrapping Christmas presents. I am giving Reverend Morgan’s baby daughter a teddy bear, which I have decided to call Allah.
Peace to you all and good will to all men,
Ali.

Mainstream Islam
My friends, I’m beginning to worry that some jihadists lack devotion to the cause. This week, Manfo Kwaku Asiedu was jailed by the kuffar because of his involvement in the failed 21/7 peace initiative. Yet, he dumped his bomb instead of using it to send infidels to hell.
I am puzzled as to why he did not want martyrdom and 72 houris. If he had carried out his mission – as sanctioned in the holy Qur’an and blessed by Allah (most pacifist) – then he would now have a queue of virgins eager to service his equipment.
Those such as I, who have important work to do here on Earth, must pay for such attentions. Although, of course, I can usually get Mr. Griffiths of the Muslim Appeasement Department (MAD) to arrange something, paid for by infidel taxes.
People sometimes say to me: “Ali, why do you follow extremist jihadist ideology rather than peaceful mainstream Islam?” I say to them: “wake up and smell the cordite you infidel ignoramus! Violent jihad is mainstream Islam.” Everyone knows it, even though dhimmi fools such as Ken Livingstone and the entire New Labour government pretend otherwise because they want Muslim votes.
A true radical is he who claims that Islam means peace.
How peaceful was the Prophet (pbuh) when he rampaged through 7th century Arabia, killing all before him? Now, there was a true leader, much like his holiness Sheik Osama and my hero, Adolf Hitler. These three men share similar commendable qualities: ruthlessness, sadism, conviction and a desire to murder Jews. Noble qualities indeed.
Peace to you all.
Ali.
